Our Story
At Evolve Youth Gaming League, we set out to create something special: a space where kids can come together, have fun, and experience the excitement of team-based activities—even if traditional sports aren’t their thing. As parents, we wanted to offer an alternative that encourages creativity, teamwork, and strategic thinking in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Our leagues are designed with kids in mind—structured, engaging, and perfect for making new friends while learning games like the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Over the course of our four-week programs, kids of all experience levels come together to play, grow, and thrive. Whether they’re brand-new to gaming or seasoned players, there’s a place for everyone at Evolve.

Meet Our Leadership Team

Emily Nicholas – Founder

With a background in Biomedical Engineering and the daily experience of being a mom to two Pokémon-loving boys, Emily knows firsthand the joy and sense of belonging that games can bring. As president, she’s dedicated to building a welcoming, fun environment where kids can explore their interests, grow their confidence, and build friendships.

Scott Nicholas – Founder

Growing up, Scott spent countless hours at his local comic shop, where trading card games like Pokémon and Magic: The Gathering brought kids together and sparked lifelong friendships. Those early experiences shaped his belief that games can teach valuable lessons about teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship—while still being tons of fun. As co-founder of Evolve YGL, Scott is focused on creating that same sense of camaraderie for every child who attends our events.
